QUESTION:
How do I upgrade TVEZ from an older version?
ANSWER:
Download the new TVEz version from our website (tvez.sf.net) and then simply follow the directions in the file UPGRADING inside of the doc directory. This will upgrade your database and configuration files to the newer version.

QUESTION:
On the TVEz website I am getting the message: "Connection refused (111). The TVEz server might not be running."
ANSWER:
Well, the TVEz server is probably not running. On the machine XINE needs to run on, cd into the tv/ directory and start the xine_server.

QUESTION:
On the TVEz website I am getting the message: "Authentication error! Error: user 'XXX' isn't known/authorized.
ANSWER:
The XINE network control user cannot be authenticated. This probably means that you do not have the correct password file ~/.xine/passwd for the current user on the machine that XINE is running on. Make sure the file exists, is readable and contains the following lines:
ALL:DENY
user:passwd
where the user and password are the same as specified in the TVEz configurator.

QUESTION:
Can I run TVEz on a Windows machine.
ANSWER:
No. TVEz does not currently run in Windows. If you are interested in porting TVEz to Windows, let us know.

QUESTION:
How do I add another language to TVEZ?
ANSWER:
It's simple - just follow the instructions in the LANGUAGES file inside of the doc directory.

QUESTION:
How do I add another theme?
ANSWER:
That is simple, also. You will find instructions in the THEMES file inside of the doc directory.

QUESTION:
When I start a movie, the volume and the playlist are not updated.
ANSWER:
Sometimes the refreash of the playlist and volume happens before xine starts up and the frames still show that xine is not running. To fix this, click on the refresh link in the playlist or just hit the play button in the player and the frames will be refreshed again.
If you still get the message "XINE is not running" open up the TVEz configurator and make sure that you have given xine a "-n" flag in th Player Flags field. This enables the XINE network control, which is used in TVEz. The TVEz server and XINE must be restarted after these changes to the config file.

QUESTION:
When I delete the playlist entry that is listed before the one that is playing, xine stops.
ANSWER:
This seems to be a bug in the xine network control. Click on the play button and the movie should start playing again. Seek to the percentage of the movie where you left off.

QUESTION:
I can play movies but can't control the volume or the playlist. Status says 'XINE is not running.' when it is.
ANSWER:
If you are using xine as your player, you either forgut to give it a '-n' flag in the player config, or you don't have 'xine network remove' compiled in xine. Please refer to the xine documentation.
